The THPAC Lifetime Achievement Award is given to those in the field of dance for a significant contribution to the field of dance spanning an entire career. It was established in 2001 as a way of recognizing artists and associated dance professionals of color for their work. Past recipients have included: Louis Johnson, George Faison, Ella Thompson Moore, Dianne McIntrye, Fred Benjamin, and Kathy Grant. The annual award is awarded to two deserving artists in the field of dance. The selection is made by a panel of THPAC board members with advisement from THPAC's  advisory and artistic advisory boards. This event also serves as THPAC' premiere fundrasing event.
